Message Personalization

Message personalization with contact attributes

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Message personalization fields allow you to customize your SMS messages by inserting dynamic information, making each message feel more personal. Currently, Textla supports personalization using only the recipient’s first and last name. You can insert these fields into your message by using the appropriate placeholders, such as {{first_name}} and {{last_name}}.

Please note that the actual character length of your message may vary depending on the recipient's name, which can affect your segment count.

1. This is the message personalization button. When you click it, two options will appear - First and Last name. You will also be able to choose your fallback value.

Fallback value is what will populate if there is no First or Last name available for the contact. The default fallback value is "friend", but you can update this to whatever you'd like.

2. This shows you what you selected for the field and the fallback value.

While personalization adds a more human touch to your messages, it’s essential to test your campaigns and monitor the segment counter to avoid unexpected charges.
