Why should I upgrade my Twilio account?
On the free trial Twilio account, you are only able to send texts to numbers that have been verified inside of your Twilio account. Once you upgrade, you will be able to send texts to anyone!
Also, if you are planning on porting or hosting an existing number to use it on Twilio, you must have an upgraded account.
Getting Started
1. In the Twilio Console, click the Billing dropdown in the top right > Then click Upgrade
2. Fill in your address - this is for taxation purposes. Click Continue.
3. Next, choose the option that applies to you regarding exemption from sales or telecom tax. Click Continue.
4. Now you have to add a starting balance. We recommend that you start with the minimum $20 to make sure Twilio is the right fit for your needs. You can also toggle on Auto Recharge. This will top up your balance each time you get close to a zero dollar balance.
5. You can pay with a card or through PayPal. Fill out your billing information, and click the Confirm Payment button.
