What is 10DLC

A2P 10DLC stands for application-to-person 10 digit long code. This may sound like a bunch of gibberish but don't worry - it's not as complicated as it sounds. It's a long winded way of explaining a phone number that is registered with your business for a specific purpose such as marketing or sales. It benefits you with a higher throughput and deliverability rate. That means that more of your customers will actually receive what you are trying to send them!

Standard numbers are only able to send 1 message per second. This can build up large queues to send texts. Once a messaging service is approved for A2P 10DLC, it can send anywhere from 20 to 100 messages per second, depending on the "Trust Score" given by Twilio.
