How to Manage your SMS Inbox

Looking for help managing your SMS messages — marking them as read, closing conversations, or using bulk actions in your inbox?

Updated yesterday

Overview

Inside your SMS Inbox, there are two ways to take action on messages:

  1. Bulk Actions – Apply an action to multiple messages at once

  2. Individual Message Actions – Click on a specific message to act on it

Understanding Message Status Icons

Before taking action, it helps to know what you're looking at:

  • Green notification = Unread message

  • Closed icon = The conversation has been closed

  • Open icon = The conversation is still active/open

  • Draft indicator = A message that hasn't been sent yet

Actions Available by Message Status

Open Messages

  • Mark as Read – This is the default option when a message is unread

  • Mark as Unread – Available once a message has been read

  • Close – Closes the conversation (this will also automatically mark it as read)

Closed Messages

  • Reopen – Brings the conversation back to your active inbox

Draft Messages

  • Mark as Read or Unread

  • Close the conversation

Tips

  • When you close a message, it is automatically marked as read — you don't need to do both steps.

  • The bulk action options will change depending on what you have selected. For example, if all selected messages are already read, you'll only see the "Mark as Unread" option, and vice versa.

  • The small icons next to each message make it easy to tell at a glance whether a conversation is open, closed, unread, or a draft.
