What is a contact status?

Contact statuses are used to differentiate eligibility for contacts to receive messages. Every status is listed below with a description on the status.

Subscribed

Subscribed contacts are fully opted in and can receive any form of message from Textla (inbox, campaigns, etc). Subscribed contacts are created via contact upload, new contact form, keyword opt in, Zapier, and the inbox.

Lead

Leads are able to receive 1-to-1 messages in the inbox, but are not included in any campaign sends. Leads are created when a phone number that is not a contact in your Textla account sends a text to your number. If they proceed to give opt in consent in an inbox conversation, they can be manually changed to a subscribed contact from the contact editor sidebar by clicking on the contact's name.

Invalid number

Invalid numbers are contacts that are unable to be texted. Examples include landline numbers, numbers that are no longer in service, or numbers that cannot receive SMS.

Opted out

Opted out are contacts that have opted out of your text list. They can get this status if they text in with an opt out keyword (such as stop), or if they are uploaded into Textla as opted out contacts.
